Chestnut honey gives a strong body to Liqueur Castanelli and reduces the spiciness of Plomariou ouzo, while Ayasou chestnuts emphasize the earthy aromas and flavors. At first taste, the aroma of anise stands out, a characteristic element of Plomariou ouzo, and then aromas of cinnamon, ginger and wood emerge.

Brown honey is produced in the spring during the flowering of the chestnut tree and is dark in color, like the honey produced from the flowers of coniferous trees.
The chestnuts were carved, roasted and then cleaned one by one. The chestnut crumb was baptized in Plomariou ouzo and honey was added last. Immediately after, it was distilled.
It is probably the only liqueur produced by distillation in Greece. The final product was placed in a tank to settle and before being standardized, it was filtered, giving it a bright honey and brown color.

Its original bottle is imported directly from Italy and resembles the shape of a chestnut. Its stopper is made of natural cork imported from Portugal and the head of olive wood from the olive groves of Lesvos.

On its label stands out a sketch that refers to the mountain mass of Olympus, the architecture of Agiasos and the chestnut tree.
Its name clearly refers to Lesvos, where we often find the diminutive ending -elli.
