Tasting Features: The Mataroa was a historic New Zealand ship that became famous, among other things, for two voyages it made in 1945, one carrying Jews to Palestine and the other Greek artists and scientists bound for France.
Mataroa gives its name to a gin – a taste journey to the shores of the Mediterranean.
Distilled and bottled entirely in Greece, Mataroa takes precious ingredients from Mediterranean countries and makes a unique blend, consistent with the almost hundred years of experience of the Melissanidis distillery, which produces it.
Lavender from France, chamomile from Cyprus, mandarin from Morocco, mastic from Greece, Iris root from Italy and orange from Spain are just some of the ingredients in Mataroa’s secret recipe, which has been tested for over 4 years and now promises to excite even the most demanding palates.
