Samali is a dessert made from semolina and yogurt and after it is baked in the oven, it is poured with syrup. Samali has a special reputation throughout Greece. Samali is like ravani only that it also contains mastic and usually less or no eggs. In some variations, grated coconut is added to the ingredients and in others it can be combined with ice cream.
It is cut in the shape of a diamond and an almond is placed in the center of the upper surface.
