The famous Elatis Mainalo honey is probably the rarest & tastiest honey of our country! It is collected in the fir forests of Mainalos as well as on Mount Parnonas in the Prefecture of Arcadia in the central Peloponnese at altitudes above 1000 meters. A unique honey in appearance that resembles something between caramel (pearl) and vanilla, with a creamy texture, fluidity & taste!

Mainalo Fir Honey is produced from the black firs of Mount Mainalo in Arcadia as well as from Mount Parnona in Arcadia and is a renowned product for its taste and low concentration of sugars. It is light in color and resembles something between caramel (pearl) and vanilla.

This honey is not collected from the flowers but from a honeydew produced by some microorganisms in the trunk of the black spruce. Another unique feature is that due to its low glucose content, it crystallizes very hard if at all.

The export of honey is extremely difficult, for this reason its production is very small and periodic throughout the years. Plenty of beekeepers from the surrounding areas place beehives in Mainalos and Parnonas but the production is still small. It is one of the treasures of Greek nature
